Client Profile: Maine Environmental News

Maine Environmental News was created in 2000 as a project of the non-profit Maine Environmental Policy Institute. It is now hosted by Planet Maine Web Hosting and Design. The site is home to Maine's environmental community. It lists news items from newspapers and radio, magazines and more. It also includes announcements of events, actiona alerts, press releases, etc. from Maine environmental oraganizations and agencies. A unique feature of the site is a Planet Maine designed article submission system that allows registered users to post articles themselves. They can post articles and announcements but cannot edit or change other aspects of the site. Currently there about 50 contributors, making this a true community effort.
